From a consumer standpoint threadlifting and radiofrequency facial tightening continue to be Hot items in the specialty. Talking to a surgeon from Toronto he has concerns about lasting effects of the threadlifting procedures...he has done quite a few of them. I think the procedure will help in conjunction with traditional surgery.. Results have not been impressive enough to offer to our patients as of yet. It is always good to know what procedures a Plastic Surgeon offers but just as important to know what he does not as well. Some technology we adopt early and other we take a more measured approach as we wait to see if it truly has star power as a procedure patients will be satisfied with. We just took delivery of our new Lumenis One platform with the newest technology for Intense Pulsed Light treatment as well and the Light Sheer Diode laser hair removal system. We are also excited about the new Lumenis ALUMA that will be delivered this month. The field of radiofrequency thermodermoplasty initiated by Thermage is now coming of age and the new technology offered by ALUMA is exciting. The FACES technology pulls the skin and soft tissue up before delivering the treatment. Patient satisfaction has been high and patient comfort high. That usually makes for a successful non invasive procedure. ALUMA was FDA approved in October 2005. If you have questions for Dr. Gentile email them through the web site and we will do our best to answer them. With so much hype in aesthetic procedures we want to be a trusted resource for information whether we are performing the procedure you are interested in or not. The morning show with Susan Deleo stopped by last week and profiled some before and afters and as always it is nice to keep the community abreast of new developments in our specialty. We will have an article in Cleveland Magazine in the April edition. You can post comments to the blog if you wish. Looking forward to many exciting presentations at "The Latest Advances in Facial Cosmetic Surgery" meeting this week in Hilton Head. I Will post update after Hilton Head Seminar.
Contact Information is available at www.facialplastics.org or 330-758-2001<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />
