Facial Cosmetic Surgery 2008 Las Vegas, Nevada
At the recent Vegas Meeting Facial Cosmetic Surgery 2008 Dr. Gentile presented some new concepts in Facial Rejuvenation including SmartLifting during the technology panel.  Dr. G also played some very "hot" golf in the 105 degree temperatures.  

Dr. Gentile's foursome at Southern Highlands in Las Vegas included Barry Bonds, Dr. Paul Nassiff and Dr. Jason Diamond from Dr90210 all of Beverly Hills, California.

5th International Congress of Facial Plastic Surgery


Dr. Gentile was an invited Professor at the 5th International Congress of Facial Plastic Surgery held in Cartagena, Colombia in March 2008.  Dr. Gentile lectured on the optimal planes for Facelift Surgery and also combining facelift surgery with resurfacing techniques.  An International Plastic Surgery community of close to 500 surgeons were in attendance learning and sharing new techniques.

AAFPRS Annual Meeting Washington DC 2008


Dr Gentile was invited faculty at the fall meeting 2007 and presented his new technique for lower eyelid rejuvenation the Contour Lower Lid Blepharoplasty.  Lower eyelid surgery has typically involved removal of skin muscle the fat bags.  This technique is acceptable for many patients but in some with severe depressions microStructural fat grafting is necessary.  This give the lower eyelid and cheek junction more fullness and a more youthful look.

Face Transplant Surgeon Headlines Las Vegas International Meeting
The touching story of Isabelle Denoir the worlds first human face transplant patient was shared with the attendees of the recent International Symposium in Las Vegas Nevada by Dr. Benoit Lengele of Brussels Belgium, the microvascular Plastic Surgeon performing most of the intricate surgery during the recent procedure.  Dr. Lengele and Dr. Gentile are seen in the photo below taken at the Symposium.  The events surrounding this historic operation were recounted in his lecture as the guest of honor for the Symposium.  The audience was impressed by the technical achievements of the surgical team and Dr. Lengele but was also touched by the heavy dose of humanism shown by all who participated in the transformation of this unfortunate severly disfigured young woman.  The achievements of the team were applauded and Dr. Lengele was made an honorary member of the Facial Plastic Surgery Academy.

Reality Plastic Surgery Midwest meets Westcoast (dr 90210)
Dr. Gentile was seen recently in several episdodes of reality TV programming.  In September he was in Los Angeles for the Facial Plastic Surgery annual meeting and co sponsored a charity event with Dr. & Mrs Paul Nassiff at their Beverly Hills Mansion.  The benefit was held to help raise funds for face to face, the national program that benefits the victims of domestic violence.  Dr. Gentile is seen below at the Celebrity poker tournament with Dr. Nassiff to his left and Danny Bonaduce at the far left.  Danny Bonaduce won the celebrity event but Dr. Gentile held his own in the after event rounds played with his colleagues from across the country.

Dr. Gentile Selected for Hair Removal Journal

Dr. Gentile Authors Chapter in Laser Textbook
 
Dr. will contribute a chapter to the new textbook “Clinical Procedures in Laser Skin Rejuvenation”  edited by Dr. Paul Carniol and Neil Sadick.  Dr. Carniol is a Facial Plastic Surgeon specializing in Laser Skin Rejuvenation and Dr. Sadick is a Manhattan dermatologist and Professor at Cornell University.  Dr. Gentile’s experience with the Erbium laser dates back 10 years when the laser first became commercially available.  The laser causes less thermal damage than the CO2 laser and has a lower complication profile.  Some of Dr. Gentile’s techniques include combining different modalities of technology to maximize beneficial effects as well as minimizing the complication profile.  Dr. Gentile has been performing laser treatments since 1984 where he performed his very first procedure as a Baylor resident with the CO2 laser.  He has been a clinical lecturer in laser technology since the 80’s.  The textbook publishers are located in the United Kingdom.

Seven Peer Reviewed Publications Completed
 It has been a busy year for Dr. Gentile in contributing to the medical literature of Facial Plastic Surgery. In August 2005 he published his novel approach to skin rejuvenation in Facial Plastic Surgery “Multi-Modality Aesthetic Skin Rejuvenation.”  In November he published his technique for Upper Blepharoplasty in Facial Plastic Surgery Clinics of North America.  Also in November 2005 he was selected to be the guest editor of Facial Plastic Surgery published by Thieme medical in New York and Stuttfart ,Germany.  Facial Plastic Surgery is the journal of the European Academy of Facial Plastic Surgery.  Dr. Gentile’s five articles in the monograph include facial, forehead and  eyelid rejuvenation as well as laser skin rejuvenation. The monograph focused on “Male Aesthetic Facial Surgery.  One of Dr. Gentile’s procedures for neck rejuvenation appears on the monograph cover.

Dr. Gentile Guest Editor for "Male Aesthetic Facial Surgery"

Dr. Gentile was selected as Guest Editor of “Facial Plastic Surgery”  Thieme Medical (New  York City) for their November 2005 edition.  The quarterly publication which is the official journal fo the European Academy of Facial Plastic Surgery focuses on the lasted advances in aesthetic and reconstructive plastic surgery. The November 2005 edition will focus on “Male Aesthetic Facial Plastic Surgery”. 

 Over the last five  years the number of men having cosmetic and plastic surgery has increased more than 700 per cent and many of these men are in their late 60’s, 70’s and even 80’s.Some demographic studies indicate that middle can extend up to the 60’s and 70’s and men who feel middle age want to look middle age.  Some senior men want cosmetic surgery to keep up with their younger wives or girlfriends, while others insist they need it to prevent their careers from sagging.

Dr. Gentile is pleased to guest edit this exciting edition and will contribute several articles to it.  “I have invited some of the most respected Facial Plastic Surgeons in the country to contribute so I am happy to know it will serve as an excellent educational resource for Facial Plastic Surgeons world wide.
